Mr B K Gupta post-graduated from the prestigious St Stephens College, Delhi and was awarded a visiting scholarship by the Yugoslav Govt in 1952. He thereafter underwent extensive training at Enfield Cables Ltd, UK (BICC Group) in the field of manufacture of Electric Cables.

On his return, he set up his own firm Victor Cables Corporation along with his younger brother Mr Gopal Krishan Gupta which soon grew to be one of the leading Cable manufacturing units in India.

Mr Gupta had been associated with several Chambers of Commerce & Educational institutions. He has been a past President of the prestigious Delhi Factory Owners Federation and had led /was a member of several high level business delegations abroad. He was also on the Executive Committee of Indian Electrical Manufacturers Association, All India Organisation of Employers,International Chamber of Commerce, PHD Chamber of Commerce, etc.

He has also represented at International Labour Organisation (ILO) Conference at Geneva (Switzerland) and at the UN sponsored ECAFE Conference on Nuclear Power at Singapore besides being a member of the high level delegation to the International Chamber of Commerce meeting held at Bali Islands. He has also served on the Advisory Boards of Indian Airlines & MMTC of India Ltd besides on various Delhi State Govt organisations.
